TV and Movie Reviews presents Tron Legacy:2010: Review

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/5132011 movies trailers, in theaters

Tron: Legacy is an American-Canadian science fiction film that was released on December 17, 2010 Most of us know it is a sequel to the 1982 film Tron.Joseph Kosinski makes his feature film debut as director with Tron: Legacy, while the previous film director, Steven Lisberger, returns as a producer.

Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Kevin Flynn, and Bruce Boxleitner reprises his role as Alan Bradley and Tron, while Garrett Hedlund portrays Flynn’s now-adult son, Sam. The other cast members include Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett, Michael Sheen and John Hurt. The film will be presented in IMAX 3D and RealD 3D.

Here’s what we know…Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), a man once known as the world’s leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the abandoned Flynn’s Arcade—that could have only come from his father—he finds himself pulled into a world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-or-death journey across a visually-stunning digital universe—created by Kevin himself—which has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons, and landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

Critics are saying that the screenplay isn’t as captivatingly state of the art as the visuals, but Tron Legacy proves a suitably dazzling sequel to the original….in other words..go for the special effects! They would be right.. This movie was captivating from the moment it started until the end. The acting was supereb, the special effects were amazing and the entertainment value was over the top!

Here’s what I think….. Are we ready for another Disney Blockbuster? Of course we are. This had sort of a cult following  and as expected did great at the box office and will do great with DVD rentals

TV and Movie Reviews presents the newest trailer for Tron:Legacy. Let me know what you think.

TV and Movie Reviews presents The Amazing Spider Man:New Trailer

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/7262011 movies trailers, in theaters

After the success of the first three films about the Marvel superhero, we all knew the spider man reboot was readyto  launch into theaters to catch audience attention and big box office in its web. …

After a brief, leaked appearance , the trailer for “The  Amazing Spider-Man” returned to the web Wednesday (July 20), and it will  probably stick around: The video is straight from the Sony Pictures and looks great…
If you are like me you were  skeptical of the decision to reboot the Spidey franchise only 10 years after the first  “Spider-Man” movie was released, but after seeing what’s on screen in the
trailer, we’re starting to come around. Andrew Garfield  (“The Social Network”) is a fine choice as Peter Parker, and we kind of like the  decision to have Spidey go back to using man-made web shooters, in keeping with  the character’s Marvel Comics origins.

The first-person shots of  Spider-Man traversing the rooftops of New York look great as well — it’s
something we didn’t really see in the previous “Spider-Man” movies, and it works.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 3,
2012. What do you think of the trailer? Are you on board with the reboot?

TV and Movie Reviews presents Resident Evil Afterlife (2012) :Review

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/5102011 movies trailers, in theaters

Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)  came out hard last fall and is still one of the most rented DVDs out now.

OK so all of you gamers, are you ready? I love the tag line for this one.. ” She’s back ..And she’s bringing a few of her friends”

Here’s what we know…. In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice ( Milla Jovovich) continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to… In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

Here’s what we think:  This has been a wildly successful franchise so far  and I think it will continue to entertain even on DVD. The critics however have killed this so far, saying it was boring, chaotic and yes dead on arrival.

R rated  for obvious reasons,if you haven’t already go and rent Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010). Are you ready? Check it out and then tell me what YOU think about the movie.

TV and Movie Reviews is please to announce the second in the franchise Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows which hits theaters on December 16.

Here we go…Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) has always been the smartest man in the room…until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large-Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris)-and not only is he Holmes’ intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective. When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead, the evidence, as construed by Inspector Lestrade (Eddie Marsan), points to suicide. But Sherlock Holmes deduces that the prince has been the victim of murder-a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by Professor Moriarty. The cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead of Holmes as he spins a web of death and destruction-all part of a greater plan that, if he succeeds, will change the course of history.

TV and Movie Reviews presents the Hunger Games

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com 3252012 movies, in theaters now, trailers

The Hunger Games is a 2012 American science fiction action drama film directed by Gary Ross and based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. It stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, and Woody Harrelson. It was released on March 21, 2012 in France and other countries and internationally on March 23, 2012[7] in both conventional theaters and digital IMAX theaters.

In The Hunger Games universe, the nation of Panem has risen out of the war- and disaster-ravaged ruins of what was once known as North America. Over 70 years before the events of the film, the thirteen poverty-stricken districts of Panem rebelled against the wealthy, controlling Capitol. After a crushing defeat, the Capitol devises the Hunger Games as a yearly reminder to the twelve remaining districts of their complete authority, and as continuing punishment for their rebellion. Every year, each District must hold a raffle (known as the “reaping”) to choose one boy and one girl (ranging from ages 12–18) to participate in the Hunger Games, a competition in which each of the 24 contestants (known as the “tributes”) battle to the death in a televised arena until only one is left alive.

Reviews have been mixed but the gist is  ”Thrilling and superbly acted, The Hunger Games captures the dramatic violence, raw emotion, and ambitious scope of its source novel.”
