http://tvandmoviereviews.com/05132011 movies trailers, in theaters

So Mel Gibson is heading back to the big screen…. but six weeks later than planned…

Here’s what we know…Two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with two-time Academy Award winner Mel Gibson in THE BEAVER – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life. Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track…until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.

Here’s what I think.. Jodie Foster is a phenomenal talent and maybe teaming up with her is a good way to get Mel Gibson back in everyone’s good graces..The Beaver was  slated for a spring of 2011 release but  will open 6 weeks later than planned, on May 6.

TV and Movie Reviews presents The Perks of Being a Wall Flower

It’s one of those books that should’ve been adapted awhile ago, but it looks like Hollywood is just getting around to turning ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower‘ into a major feature film. The folks over at Summit Entertainment have wisely picked up the film rights to the book, and assigned Logan Lerman (aka the boy who was almost Spider-Man) and Emma Watson (hot off her seven-film stint in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies) the task of bringing the coming-

Two things to know about the book…. There was lots of crying on the part of the main character, Charlie, and 2. It was really, really good. Lerman will play 15-year-old Charlie, a naive outsider who’s stuck in that time between being a kid and learning to become an adult. Naturally there’s tons of romantic awkwardness (cue Watson) and some pretty heavy emotional heartache to overcome (Charlie must deal with the suicide of his best friend throughout), but author Stephen Chbosky — who’s been tasked with writing and directing the film — pulls it all off beautifully.

Funny, touching, sincere and ridiculously heartfelt, ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ could come along at a time when our coming-of-age movies are lacking truthfulness and emotional endurance. Seeing as Summit put Chbosky in charge of the whole bag of worms, we feel secure in him delivering an adaptation that lives up to the book, which, at 213 pages, should be easier to adapt than one of those monster 700-page epics.

Here’s what we know…. In 2nd-Cen7ury Britain, two men – master and slave – venture beyond the edge of the known world on a dangerous and obsessive quest that will push them… In 2nd-Century Britain, two men – master and slave – venture beyond the edge of the known world on a dangerous and obsessive quest that will push them beyond the boundaries of loyalty and betrayal, friendship and hatred, deceit and heroism…The Roman epic adventure The Eagle is directed by Kevin Macdonald and produced by Duncan Kenworthy. Jeremy Brock has adapted the screenplay from Rosemary Sutcliff’s classic novel.

Starring Donald Sutherland and Channing Tatum, The Eagle premiered on February 11,2011.

Critics are liking this mostly..saying it is xxciting and even moving, this robust epic is filled with action, male bonding, and a terrifying sense of wilderness.

Here’s what I think.. This is not a movie for everyone….May have some serious action sequences …Rated PG 13 for the strong battle sequences and disturbing images.

TV and Movie Reviews presents My Week with Marilyn with Michelle Williams

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/1092011 movies trailers,in theaters

Marilyn Monroe has been an icon and a source of fascination for the world ince the 1950s..and now Michelle Williams is going to bring some of that to the big screen.

Here we go…In the early summer of 1956, 23 year-old Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), just down from Oxford and determined to make his way in the film business, worked as a lowly assistant on the set of ‘The Prince and the Showgirl’. The film that famously united Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh) and Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams), who was also on honeymoon with her new husband, the playwright Aurthur Miller (Dougray Scott). Nearly 40 years on, his diary account The Prince, the Showgirl and Me was published, but one week was missing and this was published some years later as My Week with Marilyn – this is the story of that week. When Arthur Miller leaves England, the coast is clear for Colin to introduce Marilyn to some of the pleasures of British life; an idyllic week in which he escorted a Monroe desperate to get away from her retinue of Hollywood hangers-on and the pressures of work.

Here’s what I think.. Michelle Williams has the acting chops to pull this off and there is already some Oscar buzz..

Out in theaters on November 4,2011 TV and Movie Reviews is pleased to present My Week with Marilyn.

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/6282011 movies trailers, in theaters

Emma Stone rocked the cover of Vanity Fair and now  this month and now bowing to critics reviews on her nre movie The Help.

‘The Help’ is an adaptation from a novel of the same name by Kathryn Stockett and  focuses on the plight of black maids raising white children in Jackson Mississippi during the Nineteen Sixties. I hear Oscar nominations already….I also understand this movie will gives us  a look at what happens when a southern town’s unspoken code of rules and behavior is shattered by three courageous women who strike up an unlikely friendship.

Critics loved this saying it was involving, warm engaging and a beautiful story, told beautifully.

In recent interviews Emma Stone spoke about her addiction to Farmville and her decision to drop out of high school to pursue acting.

Dreamworks Studios is all set to release this on August 1o.
