Jennifer Lopez leaving American Idol?

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/5162012 movies, trailers, in theaters

Her one-season stint on American Idol put Jennifer Lopez back into the spotlight (and on to the cover of People‘s Most Beautiful issue!), the singer says she’s not sure if she’ll be returning for the show’s 11th season.

“I don’t know,” Lopez said in a recent interview, when asked if we’ll see on her on the judges’ panel again. “I haven’t been forced to make a decision, and I’m glad about that because honestly I’m very on the fence about it.”

The “On the Floor” singer says that there is an intense amount of dedication needed to be apart of Idol, and with the other projects she has in the works,  she’s not sure if she’s going to have the time to put into the aspiring singers. Recent reports say she may working on her own reality show, where she looks for undiscovered singers in Latin America.

“You get to know them,” she said. “You get to know their hopes and their dreams on camera, off camera. You’re helping them off camera, you’re helping them on camera and it’s this crazy ride you go on together.”

Lopez, 41, joined the Idol revamp last season, along with new judge Steven Tyler and veteran Randy Jackson — and the threesome seems to work.  The judges had chemistry, star power and an entertaining quality that gave the FOX show another successful season. But it sounds like Lopez may want to spend some time concentrating on her own career in the near future.

“I had an amazing time doing it and I love it but I have a lot of other things happening,” she says. “It’s going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for the next year.”

Do you think Jennifer Lopez will be back on American Idol next year?

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo’s recent island wedding left “The Sing-Off” host gasping to catch his breath – especially when he laid eyes on his beautiful bride.

“She looked stunning, as I expected her to,” Nick told  Access Hollywood  on Thursday. “I hadn’t seen the dress until the ceremony, so you have that moment where it takes your breath away.”

“It was a great wedding, a great ceremony, you do everything you can to plan it and then hope for the best. It exceeded our wildest expectations. It was a lot of fun,” he said. “Everyone had a blast.”

The couple’s wedding was taped for the TLC special, “Nick & Vanessa’s Dream Wedding,” which airs on July 30 at 9 PM ET/PT. Though Nick is returning relationship reality TV, don’t expect the star’s life to become a staple on the small screen.

“[The special] had a clear starting point and a clear ending point,” Nick explained. “I’ve been down that road before. So, I think we’ll leave it at the special.”

Miranda Lambert dished on marriage

When Nashville sweethearts Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got married in May, it seemed like a romance written in a country song–one where, Lambert recently admitted, the guy was already married when they met.

In a recent which aired Monday night on Dateline, Lambert said she immediately felt “this draw” to Shelton when they were first introduced at CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2005, so she tried to ignore the one thing keeping them apart.

“I knew he was married,” said the 27-year-old singer during the interview. “I had seen their wedding picture in Country Weekly. I knew better, like, this is off limits. My parents are private investigators for God’s sake. I’ve seen this my whole life – affairs. Of all people to know better, I know better than this.”

Shelton divorced his first wife, Kaynette Williams, a year after he met Lambert. “I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody,” Shelton remembered of meeting Lambert in a recent Behind the Music episode. “I was a married guy, you know? Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage.”

Miranda Lambert added in that same special: “It was just like this draw to each other. It was just sort of this inevitable chemistry.”

Maria Menounos crushed the competition Monday on Dancing  With the Stars earning the first perfect score of the season with her  vampire-themed performance.

Monday was classical night and contestants performed both an individual  routine as well as a team dance. But Menounos and her partner Derek  Hough‘s  perfect Paso Doble put them out of reach from their  competition.

The Extra host dressed as a sexy vampire wearing fangs and lacy red  dress. Menounos said the heated performance demonstrated the nature of her  relationship with Hough. “He loves me but sometimes he wants to kill me,”  Menounos, 33, explained during rehearsal shedding some tears.

Hough, 26, admitted, “I definitely get frustrated with Maria sometimes.” But  they used that dynamic to give a very strong performance that even ended with  Menounos biting Hough’s neck.

“That didn’t suck,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba joked after their  performance. “You were so on fire. Katherine  [Jenkins] has been in the lead for the girls but she better  watch her back.”

Judge Len Goodman said their performance was as “crisp as a  Pringle.” He added, “I loved it. Fantastic.”

“Queen of the night,” judge Bruno Tonioli said. “Seriously,  the structure of this dance…was absolutely spellbinding.”

After the performance, Menounos said, “This has been the most amazing  experience of my life…I love this man so much. That’s all anybody needs to  know. I love him so much.”

And the judges revealed Menounos’ tears were worth it and awarded her a  perfect 30/30!

Kirstie Alley Dishes on David Letterman

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/4202012 movies, trailers, in theaters

Kirstie Alley did David Letterman last night and kindly confronted him and  repeated
some of the “fat jokes” that Dave had said at her expense. Letterman took the
sneak attack in stride, though he did appear to turn a bright shade of red….

David Letterman used Kirstie Alley’s recent “Dancing with the Stars” stint to get some laughs on his show, but the “fat actress” wasn’t going to let it slide. While visiting the “Late Show” last night, Kirstie called Dave out for calling her fat.

“I feel a little estranged from you,” Alley shared on the show. “I thought you loved me madly, but then you would talk about me being sort of… chub.” Dave offered an apology, admitting, “I did make jokes about the weight.”

But it wasn’t about to end at that – Kirstie came prepared to read Dave’s jokes, including this zinger: “Kirstie Alley joining ‘Dancing with the Stars’… if you don’t already own one now might be the time to get a wide-screen TV.” Ouch!

“We do love you,” Letterman explained, saying he thought he had the actress’s approval for weight-related jokes. “If you were skinny, we’d tell jokes about you being skinny… well, probably not.”

TV and Movie Reviews applaudes Kirstie Alley for her sense of humor!

Patrick Dempsey “McDreamy” quitting Grey’s Anatomy?

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com movies, trailers, in theaters

Is Patrick Dempsey quitting “Grey’s Anatomy”?  Oh Say it ain’t so!!!!

Patrick Dempsey’s publicist released a statement to EW that suggested he was taken somewhat out of context during a recent interview that’s set stirred up “Grey’s” fans. Dempsey told the Italian edition of Vanity Fair that he won’t return to “Grey’s Anatomy” after next season. “It will be my last,” Dempsey said. “I don’t know what will happen with the other characters, but for me, it’s done.”

That sounds pretty clear to us. But Dempsey’s rep says he was only referring to his contract being up after next season and it’s uncertain what he will do next:

“He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds.”

So … is this post-publication hedging the result of showrunner/studio/network phone calls telling the actor to continue the party line for the sake of the show? Or is Dempsey laying the groundwork for his next round of contract negotiations?

At the end of the day, both statements could be true: Patrick Dempsey may feel totally done with “Grey’s” and want to move on, but you never know what will happen if ABC comes up with some more green.

TV and Movie Reviews wants to hear from you. Will Grey’s Anatomy go down the tubes if Patrick Dempsey leaves?

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/8142011 movies trailers, in theaters

Actress Emma Stone is having a solid summer appearing opposite Ryan Gosling “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and dumping Justin Timberlake in “Friends with Benefits.”

Now with her role in “The Help” as Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan, an aspiring writer and college graduate, the actress explains why she chose to add on the role to her full acting roster.

“To be honest with you, I took the role because the story,” Stone told George Pennacchio of KABC Television, OnTheRedCarpet.com’s parent company, at the premiere of the film on August 9. “I loved Skeeter and I loved these women and I loved this personal account. The social relevance came after. The realization of and learning about everything that happened on a daily basis in this era.”

In the film, Stone’s character was partially raised by black maids. She decides to write a book from the perspective of “the help,” with the help of Aibileen (Viola Davis), Minnie (Octavia Spencer) and their peers.

“The Help” is based on a 2009 novel by Kathryn Stockett.  The movie hit theaters on Wednesday, August 10.

Another reason Stone signed up for the film? “The fact that we’re still going through civil rights struggles today. So even though this story took place in 1963, there’s still so much relevance,” She added. “That has been incredibly exciting to talk about.”

“You learn so much from this story and I learned so much from the book and from being a part of this and getting to live in Mississippi for three months,” Stone said. “It was really an incredible experience.”

Up next for Stone is a role as Peter Parker’s blonde love interest Gwen Stacy in “The Amazing Spider-Man,” opposite her rumored boyfriend, “The Social Network” actor Andrew Garfield.
