Eva Longoria Dishes about the ex

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/5112012 movies, trailers, in theaters

When Eva Longoria’s marriage to Tony Parker ended in 2010, the split was splashed across every celebrity magazine because the NBA basketball player had reportedly cheated on the “Desperate Housewives” star – with their mutual friend. Initially Longoria didn’t divulge too much about the dramatic end of the relationship, opting to move on with new boyfriend Eduardo Cruz soon after, but now she offers insight into her divorce.

On Thursday night’s episode of Lifetime’s “The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet,” Longoria was asked what she would tell her 14-year-old self and she quickly replied: “Don’t marry that basketball player!”

The 37-year-old star talked about confronting Parker when she discovered he had sent hundreds of inappropriate text messages to Erin Barry, the wife of his San Antonio Spurs teammate Brent Barry. (Erin denied an affair with Parker, but ended her marriage at around the same time.) “I really wanted to provide a pillow for him to say and express why,” she said. “Because I really wanted to know why.’ I’m not going to judge you. I’m not going to be mad in this moment. I’ll be mad later… People say, ‘What grace!’ And it wasn’t that. I really wanted to know, and if you genuinely want to get something out of somebody, you have to not judge.”

Whatever answers Parker provided led Longoria to find closure. “It was definitely not about me,” she said about his affair. Knowing the truth “didn’t make me feel better, but it helped me understand.” Adding, “I am so secure in who I am. I really am. And I’m not  conceited. I just think, ‘Wow, okay, that’s the life you want to live.’”

While the end of her marriage did shake her up, she said it didn’t consume her – and she didn’t give herself a hard time over it. “It wasn’t about who he chose,” she told de Cadenet. “I had moments of like: ‘OK, I’m not sexy enough? I’m not pretty enough? Am I not smart enough?’ Then I immediately stopped. ‘No, no, no – don’t start doing that.’

After a brief split with Cruz, the younger brother of actress Penelope, they’re back on. And Longoria is at a turning point in her career as “Desperate Housewives,” the show that catapulted her to stardom, goes off the air after an eight-year run. “I’m in a transitional state where I have no rules and I have no boundaries, and I don’t really want to put those back up.” Noting, “I feel like I am just getting started.”

The two-hour series finale of “Desperate Housewives” will air Sunday at 9pm/8pm c on ABC.

Ashley Judd is making her first foray into a regular TV series role by signing on to star in the new ABC drama “Missing.”

She will play a worried mom who travels to Europe to find her son, who has disappeared in Italy while on a summer internship. It soon becomes clear that this isn’t any ordinary woman, but a former CIA agent who will stop at nothing to bring her son home alive.

The project, from Greg Poirier (“National Book of Treasures: Book of Secrets”), most likely be set for the fall. Judd previously appeared in the 1990s TV series “Sisters.”

I have to say I have loved Ashley Judd in pretty much everything she’s done so I think this is great.. What about you?

TV and Movie Reviews presents Last Man Standing

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/8222011 movies trailers and more, in theaters

Last Man Standing is an upcoming American comedy series starring Tim Allen and Nancy Travis that will air on ABC. ABC announced on May 17, 2011, that the series would air on Tuesday nights at 8/7 Central, beginning this fall. It is expected to debut on October 11, 2011, with a one-hour premiere.

Tim Allen was once the living breathing definition of broad, commercial television. But in an era where 1990′s TV icons from Kelsey Grammer to Paul Reiser have stumbled, does the former Home Improvement star have what it takes to cut through today’s clutter?

ABC, which his betting big on Allen’s return-to-TV vehicle Last Man Standing, is certainly hoping so. The network propped up by female viewers is looking to lure male — and for that matter, more — eyeballs with an Allen sitcom about a man grasping for his masculinity in a family of four women.

Allen says that he went back to ABC, which he calls a “tighter leaner ship” than the the same network of the 1990s, and told its executives that it had to adjust its expectations.

Still, he’s eager to give the small screen another shot, claiming he was lured back by TV’s structure and the desire to flip-flop the Improvement premise. “It’s not rocket science that I’m doing here,” he says, adding “instead of tools, it’s sporting goods, guns, ATVs and boats, and I come home to four women.”

I have to admit that the Home Improvement re-runs still catch my attention and are amusing.

TV and Movie Reviews Tribute to Lucile Ball

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/4202012 movies, trailers,in theaters

We still love Lucy: The television star of the classic sitcom “I Love Lucy”
would have been 100 on Saturday. The whacky red head played Lucy Ricardo, the
wife of Ricky (her real-life husband, Desi Arnaz). The show that has been in
syndication for decades celebrates its 60th anniversary this year

Lucille Ball’s New York hometown will be filled with red-lipsticked, redheaded lookalikes on Saturday to try to break a world record in honor of what would have been the actress’ 100th birthday.

Scores of people trying to mimic Lucy’s distinctive look as TV persona Lucy Ricardo were expected to gather in Jamestown in western New York state to topple the world record for gathering the most Lucy lookalikes.

The event takes place on the fourth day of a five-day comedy festival in her name and was organized by the town’s not-for-profit Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz Center.

The day will feature performances by comic Paula Poundstone as well as Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel impersonators, the main characters from the hit sitcom “I Love Lucy,” which ran from 1951 to 1957 and has been seen for decades since in reruns.

If you go to the Festival you can watch episodes of the beloved show under the stars, take a cemetery tour of Ball’s final resting place, and dine in the “Tropicana Room,” a re-creation of her TV husband Ricky Ricardo’s famous Manhattan night club. Ricky was played by Ball’s husband, Desi Arnaz.

Earlier in the week, the festival included an appearance by comedian Joan Rivers and the unveiling of the studio door for CBS Studio A in Hollywood where Ball and Arnaz made their very first appearance on TV together in 1949 and where they later shot the “I Love Lucy” pilot in 1951.

The non-profit group that organized the festival says that its mission is to preserve the Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz legacy and enrich the world through a commitment to the development of the comedic arts.

The Lucy legacy has had an impact on Jamestown, about 80 miles south of Buffalo, as evidenced by the many city institutions and other venues bearing her name.

Events conclude on Sunday with a picnic at Lucille Ball Memorial Park where graduates of Friday’s Comedy College will perform at the Desi Arnaz Memorial Bandshell.

TV and Movie Reviews presents Once Upon a Time

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/10182011 movies trailers and more, in theaters

Once Upon a Time is an upcoming American fantasy/drama television series set to air on ABC, who announced that the series will air on Sunday nights in the 8:00 pm Eastern/7:00 pm Central time slot. It is currently expected to debut on October 23, 2011.

The series is loosely inspired by the classic fairy tale stories except set in the present day, hence the series name. The stories hold a key to the mystery that will draw a bail bonds collector and the son that she gave up for adoption 10 years earlier to a New England town called Storybrooke, Maine. This town is actually a parallel world in which fairy tale characters look like normal people and don’t remember their true identities or anything about their true lives.

TV and Movie Reviews Dish on The Bachelorette

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/822011 movies trailers , in theaters

The return of Bentley Williams in Hong Kong not only puts The Bachelorette’s Ashley Hebert on edge, but the guys as well.

ABC has been using Bentley Williams’ Hong Kong return as the perfect tease to keep us tuning in and tonight (June 27) we’ll finally see just how much it affects Ashley Hebert and the men.

It has already been reported that the The Bachelorette host Chris Harrison believes the return of Bentley Williams is as much It about the men as it his about Ashley Hebert.

Harrison teased that the results of Bentley Williams showing his deceptive face and the whole episode for that matter, “Will absolutely shape everything that will happen the rest of this season and maybe the rest of Ashley’s life.”

Do you think this is an episode not to be missed. But don’t worry, just because Bentley Williams is flying to Hong Kong to face Ashley doesn’t mean we’ll be void of the normal format we’ve come to know and love on The Bachelorette – the dates. After all, it would be boring if Williams was the only focus.

Two interesting reports as to what will go down during Monday night’s episode are a dragon boat race between the men and a passion filled date between J.P. and Ashley.

The rose ceremony, however, will bring everything to a boil as the men share their true feelings over Bentley Williams’ return and one man just can’t handle it.

ABC’s recent  all-night “Bachelorette” marathon delivered steady, if not particularly exciting, numbers for the network  on Monday 8/1/2011. The only other new programming — FOX’s “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Masterchef” — sopped up the most of the remaining iewers, leaving the rest
adrift in a sea of August re-runs.

ABC averaged 9.4 million viewers and a 6.2 rating/10 share in households for the evening. FOX wasn’t too terribly far behind (5.4 million, 3.2/5). CBS (4.4 million, 3.0/5) came in third overall,
with NBC (just 3.6 million, 2.4/4) and The CW (504,000, 0.4/1) finishing last.
Will someone walk away? Will Bentley stay? Check it out and tell TV and Movie Reviews  what you think in the comments section below.
