Dwayne Johnson, who can currently be seen in theaters in Fast Five, is set to star in and produce a biopic of black country music star Charley Pride, according to reports.
Producing with Dwayne Johnson are Dany Garcia, Randy Jackson and Pride’s manager John Daines in association with Sony ATV Music Publishing.
Country Music Hall of Famer Pride has charted more than three dozen No. 1 singles and has sold more than 70 million records.

Two and a Half Men will technically become three men on Saturday, Oct. 8 when Angus T. Jones turns 18.
Angus T Jones, has been playing Jon Cryer‘s underachieving son, Jake, since he was 9, and has also been one of the most successful, not to mention loaded, young stars in the biz. Here are a few tidbits TV and Movie Reviews thought you might want to know:
-He was born in Austin, Texas. His middle name is Turner and he has a younger brother named Otto.
-Jones and his family moved to Los Angeles when he was 4, but he never wanted to be an actor. Instead, his mom took him to auditions hoping he could make some money for his college savings. Jones started doing commercials and had a small part in the 1999 film Simpatico. He landed his first major film role, See Spot Run opposite David Arquette, when he was 6.
- Last year, Jones became the highest-paid child TV actor after signing a $300,000-per-episode contract, guaranteeing him $7.8 million over two seasons. Oh yeah, there’s also that hefty $500,000 signing bonus. Under his previous contract, he earned $250,000 an episode. The next highest-paid minor on the list: iCarly‘s Miranda Cosgrove ($180,000 per episode).
-Men is notorious for its racy jokes and sexual innuendoes, but when he was younger, Jones never asked his castmates or producers to explain the adult humor to him — even if they wanted to. “At one point I asked him if he wanted to know and he said no,” Cryer told the Los Angeles Times in 2009. “He doesn’t bring it up with me. He’s not like a lot of boys.”

-Had Men ended after the Sheen debacle earlier this year, Jones, now a high school senior, would’ve been perfectly fine with it as he would’ve returned to school for a full regular year, which he’s never done before. -While Cryer told TV Guide Magazine in September that he has not heard from Sheen at all and does not have his number, Jones and Sheen have been keeping in touch. “I talk to him every now and then,” Jones told E! “I still want to hang out with him and stuff. We’re still friends. There’s no hard feelings at all.”

Sandra Bullock and ex-hubby Jesse James‘ daughter Sunny are no longer in contact. The actress, 47, seems to be cutting all ties to James, even if that means distancing herself from his adorable 7-year-old.
Sandra doesn’t communicate anymore with Sunny,” the girl’s mother, Janine Lindemulder, says in recent reports . “Sunny never talks about her.”
The Blind Side star helped care for Sunny during her marriage to James from 2005 to 2010, even mentioning her “commitment ” to the girl when she petitioned a judge on behalf of James in his 2009 custody battle with Lindemulder.
“I don’t bear any grudges against Sandra,” Lindemulder added. “She has her own son [Louis, 19 months] to raise.”
Sources are saying that S Bullock “has had to move on” from James, which meant disconnecting from Sunny, too. “The last thing she wanted to do was hurt Sunny,” the insider added. “But she had to do what was best for her.”
Bullock secretly adopted a baby boy from New Orleans — Louis Bardo — in January 2010. She and James had begun the initial adoption process four years earlier, but given their split in April 2010, Bullock finalized the adoption as a single parent.

Jennifer Grey appears to endorse the idea of a remake of the movie that helped make her famous – “Dirty Dancing
The co-star of the original “Dirty Dancing” film has given her blessing to the
remake. The actress threw her support behind Kenny Ortega, who will direct the
remake and served as choreographer on the original. “I love (Kenny Ortega) and
trust that he will do something special,” Jennfier Grey tweeted
Kenny Ortega, also helmed the 2009 Michael Jackson documentary “This Is It” and three “High School Musical” films.
Jennifer Grey later said “I’m so excited about this news and I think there’s nobody better to do this than my beloved Kenny Ortega, who is as responsible as anyone for the success of the first one. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do with it.”
Grey was 26 when she filmed “Dirty Dancing.” She played a teenager named Baby, who begins a summer romance with her dance instructor, portrayed by Patrick Swayze, despite disapproval from her parents. The cast of the “Dirty Dancing” remake has not been announced.
The original “Dirty Dancing” movie grossed $214 million worldwide in 1987. A sequel called “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights” was released in 2004 and featured a cameo by Swayze. The actor and dance pro died in 2009 at age 57 after battling pancreatic cancer.
Jennifer Grey is also known for her role as jealous sister Jeanie in the 1986 comedy “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” Several years after “Dirty Dancing” was released, she had a nose job and her film career stalled.

Grey has since joked about the matter. Ryan Seacrest, executive producer of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” said on his morning radio show that he had spoken to Kardashian and that she had confirmed the split.
“Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins,” Seacrest added in a Twitter message.
Kim Kardashian’s publicist could not immediately be reached for comment.
The couple married on August 20 in southern California in a wedding reported to have cost $10 million, after dating for about nine months. More than three million U.S. viewers watched a two-part TV special earlier this month called “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian event”.
Kim Kardashian is one of the highest-paid reality stars on U.S. television with 2010 earnings estimated at $6 million from her TV show, clothing line, perfume, jewelry and tanning cream and other product endorsements and appearances.

Blake Lively showed up at the premiere of The Green Lantern last night in a Chanel Haute Couture gown from spring 2009. The cap-sleeve frock has a demure lacy top with a very sheer skirt. She completed the look with a tousled side braid.
While it’s certainly a stunning gown, is it too bridal for an movie premiere? Especially since the movie in question involves battling evil while wearing a shiny green ring?

Paula Abdul will reportedly be joining fellow The X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones in being axed from next fall’s second edition of the Fox reality singing competition, according to reports.
While the network has verified the departures of Scherzinger and Jones, it has yet to confirm the reports of Abdul’s exit from The X Factor’s judging panel.
A shake-up would leave only two on-camera faces returning for the show’s second season – The X Factor creator and lead judge Simon Cowell and fellow judge L.A. Reid. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cowell has decided The X Factor ”needs a bigger celebrity” on its judging panel.
Fox confirmed Scherzinger and Jones’ exits on Monday evening shortly after Jones announced his departure via Twitter.
“I wont be hosting next seasons [The X Factor] which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show,” Jones tweeted.
Reports that The X Factor was considering dropping Jones or giving him a new co-host had first surfaced in October shortly after the show’s debut and persisted throughout the show’s first season.
Similar to Jones’ departure, Scherzinger’s exit also isn’t a surprise given her judging performance had been heavily criticized during The X Factor’s first season — particularly following her decision to avoid her judging responsibility and deliberately force a judging deadlock that resulted in the unintended elimination of 13-year-old contestant Rachel Crow during the competition’s Top 5 results show.

Kim Kardashian is under some scrutiny from Uncle Sam…Proponents of a proposed tax increase on millionaires in California are asking that question of the outsize personality, who has parlayed her reality TV celebrity status into fame and personal fortune.
An online video from the Courage Campaign targets the star of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” as part of its campaign for a proposed November ballot initiative to raise taxes on the wealthiest Californians.
The video ad flashes images of Kardashian enjoying the good life, proclaiming that “being on TV has changed my life, because you get lots of free stuff.”
Kim Kardashian made $12 million in 2010 but paid just 1 percentage point more in California income taxes than someone making $47,000 — 10.3 percent vs. 9.3 percent. The video ad, which is posted at www.Taxkimk.com , urges Kardashian to support the proposal for a tax increase.
“Not everyone was born a Kardashian, but we all need to pay our fair share,” it says.
A spokeswoman for Kardashian, Pearl Servat, did not respond to a request for comment Tuesday from The Associated Press.
The Courage Campaign and the California Federation of Teachers are among the groups backing a so-called millionaire’s tax that would raise income tax rates by 3 percent to 5 percent for individuals who make more than $1 million a year.
Proponents say the tax would raise about $6 billion to help fund public schools and local services that have been hit hard during the recession, such as social services, programs for the elderly and public safety.
If the groups are successful in getting their tax initiative on the November ballot, they would likely pursue a television ad on the same theme, Courage Campaign spokeswoman Ana Beatriz Cholo said.
Tax revenue to the state has dropped $17 billion since the recession began during the 2007-08 fiscal year, requiring billions of dollars a year in budget cuts.
The millionaires tax is one of several ballot proposals circulating in California seeking to increase income taxes on the wealthy as a way to help close the state’s annual budget deficit. In 2010, about 41,000 Californians reported adjusted gross income above $1 million, paying about $13.1 billion in taxes to the state, according to the Franchise Tax Board.
A proposal by Gov. Jerry Brown also seeks to raise taxes temporarily, and he has been reaching out to wealthy donors who could help finance his initiative campaign. The Democratic governor said he has found that most wealthy people are not too excited about increasing their own taxes, with some exceptions.
“I talked to Rob Reiner; he was very excited about paying more taxes,” the governor quipped last week. A spokesman for Reiner was not immediately available for comment Tuesday.

Forbes magazine estimated Kardashian made $12 million in 2010.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the first film in Columbia Pictures’ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy. Directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, the film is based on the first novel in the trilogy, which altogether have sold 50 million copies in 46 countries and become a worldwide phenomenon.
Not really a surprise that critics are loving this. The latest review I read said “ Brutal yet captivating, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is the result of David Fincher working at his lurid best with total role commitment from star Rooney Mara.”

Angelina and Brad may be one of Hollywood’s power couples but Angelina has admitted she’s a bit of a bleeding heart when it comes to choosing her favorite football player.
“When I see somebody who, like, cries and waves to his mom or kids, then that suddenly becomes my favorite player,” Angelina said on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday. “I’m a girl, you know.”
Access had the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers game playing on the red carpet when Angelina and Brad hit Billy’s post, but the two were still feeling emotions over a Saturday night matchup.
“My [New Orleans] Saints lost yesterday, so I’m a little upset,” Brad said.
“It was a great game, though. They fought so well,” Angelina noted.
Brad admitted he was very moved by the game that saw the Saints lose to the San Francisco 49ers.
“The first half was one of the most painful. The second half was really strong,” Brad said.
It was adult/parents’ night out as Brad amd Angelina attended the Globes, but they were still thinking of home and their six children.
“I think we usually say we’re gonna try to make it home early,” Angelina said when asked what they tell the babysitter. “And our kids just say, ‘Can we get in your bed?’ So, they’re invading our room right now. They know. They know to crawl in and take over.”
