Detention…Lindsay Lohan style

Lindsay Lohan , the troubled actress spent a little less than five hours at the Century Regional
Detention Facility in Lynwood, California before being released at 1:30 AM on
Monday. There was no official reason given for her early release, but some
believe that overcrowding was the issue.

According to reports, Lindsay Lohan was released from a Los Angeles County jail early Monday, less than five hours after she arrived at the crowded women’s lockup to serve a 30-day sentence for violating probation.

The “Mean Girls” actress was booked into the Century Regional Detention facility in Lynwood at 8:48 p.m. Sunday, in what was expected to be a short stay because of jail overcrowding.

She was released at 1:35 a.m., county sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

News crews staking out the jail said she left in a black Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle, and that she was in her Venice home by 2 a.m.

Lohan did not get any favors, Whitmore said.

“She’s treated like every other inmate who has gone through similar circumstances,” he said.

Lohan had until Nov. 9 to report to the jail.

If you are keeping up, it’s Lindsay Lohan’s fifth jail sentence since being arrested twice for drunken driving in 2007.

On Wednesday, a judge ordered jail time because Lohan recently violated court orders by getting booted from a community service assignment at a women’s shelter.

The judge imposed a complicated sentence, telling Lohan that she will now have to perform all of her community service at the county morgue or risk serving an additional 270 days in jail.

Lohan will have to serve 423 hours at the county morgue, where for nearly two weeks she has been mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms and washing dirty sheets.

The sentence also requires Lohan to undergo psychotherapy sessions and appear monthly at court hearings between December and March.

The judge also said Lohan can no longer leave the country and needs the permission of her new “no-nonsense” probation officer to travel outside California.

Jail overcrowding has led to significantly shortened jail terms.

In 2007, Lohan spent 84 minutes at the jail before being released, and in the past she has served about 20 percent of her sentence, which is roughly six days.

“The longer the sentence, the longer you stay in jail,” Whitmore said.

“As pathetic as it sounds, this is not necessarily special treatment,” said Adam H. Braun, a defense attorney who was not involved in the case. “It just depends how full the jail is when someone surrenders.  If it is filled to capacity or nearly full, offenders like her are the first ones let go so more serious offenders can be held.”

“Even so, she was not likely to do more than 20 percent of the 30 days under the jail crowding formulas being used because her offense was not a crime of violence,” he added in an email.

Lindsay Lohan has had her fair share of fashion faux paus over the years, but it seems like her sense of style is getting worse by the minute. Check out what the former “Freaky Friday” star went out in shopping in NewYorik. Lindsay Lohan unleashed her inner hippie by donning a doily-like Broderie Anglais mini dress while out and about in New York. Damaged hair, unflattering cheetah-print shoes , and an enormous ,fringed handbag completed her catastrophic look.

Hugh Hefner Dishes on Lindsay Lohan

In a recent interview, Hugh Hefner discussed his initial ambivalence about Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy pictorial. The mogul explained that his Chicago editors suggested reaching out to Lohan, which “really came as a surprise to me.” He admitted he had “kind of mixed emotions about it initially.” Perhaps alluding to Lohan’s bumpy track record with court and rehab, he said, “I wasn’t sure where she was at in her life, obviously”

“I kind of had mixed emotions about it initially, and then it turned into something bigger than life,” Hugh Hefner said of the actress’s Marilyn Monroe-inspired pictorial, which leaked last week. When asked to explain said “mixed emotions,” Hefner responded, “Well, I wasn’t quite sure where she was at in her life, obviously. Depends on whether it’s Tuesday or Thursday.”

But, as most of the world knows, Hefner got over the feeling that he was photographing a possibly unstable subject, and Lohan posed completely nude for the magazine  — but only after Hef did some convincing.

“I think it was essentially mama and the folks around her that kept pushing for less nudity,”  Hugh Hefner stated “And I said, ‘We’re doing a nude pictorial here. We’re going to do it in a very classy way and we’re going to do it in a way in which it will not be forgotten.’ ”

Lohan’s pictorial, for which she was reportedly paid close to a whopping million dollars, hits newsstands today.

Wanna hear the latest on Lindsay Lohan? Of course we do…

Lindsay Lohan is facing a lien for nearly $94,000 that the federal government says she owes in unpaid taxes.Records in Los Angeles County show the lien was filed Thursday seeking payment for the 2009 tax year.

This was reported the same day a paparazzo sued the model-actress for being in a car that allegedly struck him in Hollywood in January 2010.

Lohan’s publicist Steve Honig said the starlet’s finances are nobody’s business but her own. As for photographer Grigor Balyan’s lawsuit seeking unspecified damages against Lohan, Honig says he hasn’t seen the case but accused the paparazzi of invading her privacy daily.

The actress is continuing to serve morgue duty to comply with her probation in a pair of misdemeanor cases.

Does Lindsay Lohan owe some money?

The company Elite Transportation Limo and Security Services recently filed a lawsuit against the actress, saying she reserved limos for her friends and family and used the company’s services herself between February and May of 2009, but did not pay for them.

However,Lindsay Lohan’s spokesperson released a statement  “We’re not aware of any lawsuit. We haven’t been served with anything, so we can’t comment on a lawsuit that has not been served or seen.”

Court records show the company filed the suit on October 7 at a Los Angeles court.

According to documents, Elite also says that in January 2010, the actress was managed by the company Tri Star Sports and Entertainment Group, which “repeatedly made promises” to pay for the transportation servives but never did so.

It says Lohan’s original bill was $32,515. With monthly 5 percent late charges of $58,070.79 – the first of which was applied in January 2010, the actress’ total unpaid balance, as of the end of August, is $90,585.79, Elite says in its filing.

In its lawsuit, Elite provides what it says are invoices that show the company provided transportation for Lindsay Lohan at a “VIP hourly rate of between $55 and $1,000,” picking her up and dropping her off at a Hollywood residence, several airports, the Chateau Marmont Hotel in West Hollywood – a popular party spot, a Lakers basketball game at Staples Center and a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program near the city.

Private bodyguard service was also gven, the invoices state. The actress has often been seen with security personnel and has for years been hounded by celebrity photographers while dealing with personal legal turmoils. Lohan is currently on probation for a misdemeanor theft case and for a 2007 drunken driving and cocaine possession charge.

Lindsay Lohan due back in court

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/7212011 movies trailers and more

Lindsay Lohan will make an appearance in a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday to report her progress on 480 hours of community service she must do for shoplifting a necklace from a Venice jeweler. Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner at the Airport Courthouse sentenced the “Mean Girls” actress to 120 days in jail for stealing the gold and diamond necklace. But the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department allowed her to serve 35 days under house arrest at her Venice home because of jail overcrowding and her low-risk status. The theft conviction came as Lohan was on probation in a 2007 driving-under-the-influence case. Sautner also ordered Lohan in May to complete 360 hours of community service at a women’s center on skid row and 120 additional hours at the L.A. County coroner’s office, where she would do janitorial work. The judge will check on her compliance. While under house detention, the actress failed an alcohol test, but Sautner ruled that the failed test did not violate her probation because the testing requirement had ended months earlier. Legal experts said a second positive test since her treatment at the Betty Ford Center last year would make it more difficult for producers of future film projects to insure her. Sautner has expressed anger with Lohan’s behavior, saying previously the actress was guilty of “extremely poor judgment.”

Lindsay Lohan orderd to stop partying

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/6242011 movies trailers and more

Actress Lindsay Lohan, who apparently failed an alcohol test, may not host more than one guest at a time while under house arrest, a Los Angeles County judge rules.

Angry with paparazzi photos that appear to show Lindsay Lohan partying on the rooftop of her beachfront Venice home, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner told the actress she can no longer entertain more than one guest at a time while under house arrest.

Lindsay Lohan was in court Thursday after a probation report said she had failed a June 13 alcohol test, but Sautner ruled that a failed alcohol test did not violate her probation and that the testing requirement had ended moThe actress is serving a home detention stint following her conviction for shoplifting a gold and diamond necklace. The theft conviction came as Lohan was on probation in a driving-under-the-influence case.

Legal experts said that although the actress, due to film a movie about gangster John Gotti, may have dodged jail again, a second positive test for alcohol since her treatment at the Betty Ford Center last year will make it harder for producers of future films to insure her.

“Most production companies are going to have trouble getting insurance for her. She is unpredictable; her insurance rates are very high,” said attorney Dmitry Gorin, who represents Hollywood clients.

Sautner appeared angered with Lohan’s behavior, saying she was guilty of “extremely poor judgment.”

The partying was so evident that Lohan’s neighbors had complained to Los Angeles County supervisors, the judge said. “If you are in jail, you are not allowed to have parties. House arrest should be akin to jail,” Sautner said.

“I have no ground for modifying your probation. Don’t give me grounds. Do you want to get on with your life?” she asked the actress.

“Yes, I do,” replied Lohan.

The judge snapped back: Then “don’t do stupid things that give people a reason to hate you…. Don’t do stupid things that fly in the face of the spirit of the court’s order. You knew I sentenced you to jail. You knew I was unhappy with house arrest.”

Sautner said Lohan will be permitted to have only one house guest at a time except for family visitors and business associates.

Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, said Lohan did not do anything wrong because the alcohol test was not a condition of probation. “Alcohol is a legal substance. She is permitted to drink alcohol,” Holley said outside court.

Holley, who would not confirm that the actress drank alcohol, said Lohan did cancel a scheduled interview with NBC‘s Matt Lauer recently because of concerns related to the alcohol-test investigation.

Lohan is serving a 35-day house detention that began May 26. Just four days after the detention began, probation officials noted that Lohan’s monitoring equipment was damaged by friends spilling a drink on it.

Following the court appearance, Lohan took to Twitter. “Thank you to all of my fans for your support. Sending you Love and Light,” Lohan wrote.

Lindsay Lohan didn’t get Gotti

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/4222011 movies trailers and more

She didn’t get “Gotti”: The actress, who was in talks to play Victoria Gotti in “Gotti: Three Generations” is no longer in contention for the role. Producer Mark Fiore told E! News, “Talks have stopped and we are done.”

Yes, it’s true…Lindsay Lohan’s gangster days appear to be over, on screen at least. The actress is no longer in the running  to play a real-life mob daughter in an independent movie about crime boss John Gotti, its producer said on Wednesday.

Lohan, whose promising career has been derailed by drug and criminal problems, was touted as a possibility to play Gotti’s daughter, Victoria. She even showed up at a news conference announcing the project last week.

But the producer of “Gotti: Three Generations” said talks have ended.

“We are not talking any further about Lindsay playing Victoria,” Marc Fiore was quoted as telling People magazine. “She is no longer being considered. The talks have stopped. We are going to meet with other people (for the role).”

It was unclear why Lindsay Lohan, 24, was no longer being considered, although numerous reports suggested that the demands of Lohan’s management team got out of control.

Fiore was quoted as saying, “I will only ride a merry-go-round with my kids.” An email seeking comment from Lohan’s manager was not immediately answered.

Fiore also needs to find a new director. Nick Cassavetes, who was reportedly opposed to any talks with Lohan, abruptly exited the project earlier this week because of what the producer called a scheduling conflict.

John Travolta will portray Gotti Sr, while “GoodFellas” veteran Joe Pesci has been cast as his close friend Angelo Ruggiero.

Lohan is scheduled to appear at a Los Angeles preliminary court hearing on Friday over a jewelry theft charge that will determine if she should stand trial. She could be sent to prison if eventually convicted.

The former child star has not headlined a movie since the widely ridiculed 2007 bomb “I Know Who Killed Me.”

Lindsay Lohan Changing her name

Monday, March 28th, 2011

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/3282011 movies trailers and more

When you hear the name “Lindsay,” do you immediately think of the sometime-actress, or your co-worker/sister/friend who happens to have the same name?

“Lindsay” is a common moniker among young American women,; even so, Lindsay Lohan –of course the most famous of them all — is banking on being the one and only.

“Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay. Plus, me and (younger daughter) Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan,” a dead serious Dina Lohan has reported to the tabloids.

Apparently, LindsayLohan had been on the fence about dropping “Lohan” until the SuperBowl in which a baby was referred to as “that milkaholic Lindsay.”

That being said, “Lindsay” does not have the same unique power as “Oprah,” “Madonna,” “Cher” or “Beyonce.” Then again, only a handful of people around the world can say, “Hi, my name is Beyonce.”

“Now you can add Lindsay to that list,” says a Lohan pal. “And it’s a way for them all to start over. No one in the family wants anything to do with Lindsay’s father (Michael Lohan) anymore and that includes sharing a last name.”

If you have kept up,you might remember, Papa Lohan — no stranger to brushes with the law — was arrested for striking ex-girlfriend Kate Major.

Meanwhile, Lohan herself might want some distance from her own infamous problems: the former “Mean Girls” phenom, now virtually unhirable in Hollywood, will soon stand trial for felony grand theft after rejecting a plea deal that involved jail time.

If Lindsay Lohan  removes her notorious last name,  it will haunt her forever: The Internet has a long memory, and “Lohan” headlines stretch back some seven years. Who do you feel worse for? The “new ” Lindsay or  for the all the world’s Lindsays whose identities will practically be stolen by an alleged celebrity jewelry thief?

Lindsay Lohan rejects plea deal

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

http://tvandmoviereviews.com/3242011 movies trailers and more

Lindsay Lohan, troubled celebrity, has apparently rejected a plea deal on her felony grand theft case, and is choosing to instead to go to trial. According to reports she wants to defend herself against the charges that she stole a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, California, jewelry store.

Lindsay Lohan wants a jury to decide if she’s guilty of stealing a necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store, her lawyer said Wednesday.

Her lawyer informed the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office Wednesday afternoon that the actress was rejecting a plea deal.

“She has a strong defense and we are confident that a jury will listen to the evidence fairly and acquit her,” Shawn Holley said.

A judge gave Lohan until Wednesday to decide if she would accept a plea deal that would send her to jail for a felony grand theft charge.
